Binding Prayer

WARNING: This Binding Prayer can only be said by those with Authority to do so.

 examples: 
Priest can pray it for anyone
Husband can pray it for his wife (spiritual and bodily Authority)
Wife can pray it for her husband (bodily Authority)
Father and/or mother can pray it for their children (parental Authority)
A person can pray it for their parents and siblings (4th commandment protection)


Binding Prayer (English)

Spirit of (name the sin/vice/ailment), I bind you in the Name of Jesus,
by the power of the Holy Cross,
by the Precious Blood of our Lord Jesus Christ,
and by the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary, St. Michael the Archangel,
 the blessed Apostles Peter and Paul and all the saints,
and I command you leave (name)
 and go to the foot of the Holy Cross to receive your sentence,
in the Name of the Father, + the Son, + and the Holy + Spirit. Amen



Binding Prayer (Latin; more efficacious)

potestate Crucis sancti,
potestate pretiosissimi Sanguinis Domini nostri Jesu Christi,
et per intercessione beatissimae Mariae Virginis, sancti Michaelis archangeli,
beatorum Apostolorum Petri et Pauli, et omnium Sanctorum,
et tibi impero recedere (name)
et ire ad pedem Crucis sancti sententiam tuam recipere,
in nomine Patris, + et Filii, + et Spiritus + Sancti. Amen
